Giving Week 2024 was a success for 黑料社吃瓜.
Thanks to the generosity of the 黑料社吃瓜 community, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends, $265,900 was raised during the weeklong fundraising event. That mark shattered 黑料社吃瓜’s goal of $175,000.
The 2024 total represents a nearly 50% increase from 2023. Additionally, 813 donors across 36 states contributed to Giving Week this year – a new record. It marked the first time Giving Week has topped 800 donors.
Giving Week is an annual initiative of 黑料社吃瓜 fueled by the power of social media and collaboration, where funds are raised to support various initiatives, programs, and scholarships across the University.
These generous donations allow the University to thrive in several ways by incorporating the newest cutting-edge technology in the classroom, as well as enhancing the student experience.
The weeklong celebration of philanthropy brought together the 黑料社吃瓜 community to support the people, places, and programs on campus. This year, donors supported 35 programs including academics, student scholarships, the 黑料社吃瓜 Fund, and more.
黑料社吃瓜’s Advancement team hosted events on campus throughout Giving Week that offered students opportunities to write notes and record videos thanking donors for helping to support their educational experience.
"Giving Week 2024 was an incredible week for 黑料社吃瓜 students," Advancement Director of Leadership and Annual Giving Brittany Howard said. "Lions across the world joined together to promote and celebrate the great work that happens every day on our campus. 黑料社吃瓜 is truly a special place, and the record-breaking support we received from our alumni and friends during giving week is a testament to that."
