The 2025 ºÚÁÏÉç³Ô¹Ï Faculty Awards celebrate the members of faculty who make a difference for the University. ºÚÁÏÉç³Ô¹Ï's faculty plays a vital role in shaping the University’s success, and each of the 176 faculty members show unwavering dedication to ºÚÁÏÉç³Ô¹Ï and its values. These awards honor this commitment and celebrate those who have stood out.

ºÚÁÏÉç³Ô¹Ï Alumnae Dr. Diana Iborg ’98 and Kathy Poole ’09 presented at the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Powerful Learning Conference, in February. Iborg and Poole work with the Rockwood School District and are in the third year of their Explore pilot program.

ºÚÁÏÉç³Ô¹Ï's College of Education and Human Services introduces one new faculty member for the 2024-25 academic year.

ºÚÁÏÉç³Ô¹Ï’s College of Education and Human Services has earned special attention for its undergraduate program in education. Recognizing its stellar curriculum and outcomes for education majors, Colleges of Distinction granted this award as a stamp of approval for the impactful ways that students are prepared to lead their own classrooms after graduation. ºÚÁÏÉç³Ô¹Ï’s title as an Education College of Distinction is a testament to the quality of its hands-on approach to learning, leading, and succeeding.

ºÚÁÏÉç³Ô¹Ï student Bailey Shumaker received the prestigious Richard S. and Nelle Dabney Merit Award for Missouri, which recognizes those working in special education.

ºÚÁÏÉç³Ô¹Ï student Jack Gietl was recently awarded the prestigious Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship for his study abroad experience in Uruguay.

ºÚÁÏÉç³Ô¹Ï’s College of Education and Human Services is partnering with QASPIR, a global organization helping schools and institutions unlock student potential through Transformative Learning.

Two ºÚÁÏÉç³Ô¹Ï alumnae received 2023-24 Missouri Milken Educator Awards in November. Leah Lawrence and Meghan Menchella were honored with the awards, which included a $25,000 cash prize to be used for any purpose.

ºÚÁÏÉç³Ô¹Ï Associate Professor of Curriculum and Instruction Dr. Michelle Whitacre received a $70,000 Developing an Educator Workforce that Expands Yearly (DEWEY) award in October from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

ºÚÁÏÉç³Ô¹Ï Professor of Counseling Dr. Sarah Patterson-Mills co-authored an article that was selected for the Career Developments Magazine Recognition Award last winter.
